This is a problem about Microsoft office 2007 Ultimate
when i start Microsoft office 2007 Ultimate (word Or powerpoint) all options are freeze and when i try to type anything message appear that ” this 
modification is not allowed because selection is locked”
i try new document also n also documents which is save in my laptop ….
please can any one fix this problem m very grateful to you

I have Microsoft office Professional 2007. Containing Word, exel, power point & one note. I wish to add Microsoft office Publisher 2007 but am 
confused as to whether I need to buy the full program or the upgrade. The implication on a couple of sites is that if I have Office I only need the upgrade. Please would someone clarify this for me. I have mailed Microsoft but had no answer. One of 
my sons insists I need the full prog, the other thinks the upgrade will do it, hence very muddled. 
As long as you have any of the following products installed on your computer, you should be able to just buy the upgrade 
rather than the full product:
Microsoft Publisher 2000–2002; Microsoft Office Publisher 2003; Microsoft Publisher Deluxe 2000–2002; Microsoft Office 
Publisher 2003 with Digital Imaging; any 2000-2007 Microsoft Office suite; any Microsoft Office XP suite.

shift change of Microsoft Office 2007 Professional
I have Microsoft Office 2007 Professional and I installed it on a number of my computers over the last years. Some of those computers were laptops 
that were stolen. Now I use one computer and want to put Microsoft Office 2007 on my new notebook, but there are no more licenses - 
neither the internet activation or phone activation will let activate Microsoft Office 2007 Professional (I never got to talk to a person, it just terminated 
the call). 
Is it possible to reset the Microsoft Office 2007 Professional activation or deactivate all the licenses I installed over the years and start from the 
beginning? How do I solve this problem and continue using Microsoft Office 2007? I also want to use Microsoft office 2007 Ultimate, my friends told me its very good.

Microsoft office home and student 2007 
First, could not open office excel. Error 1402, Setup cannot open the registry key UNKNOWN\.xHx\Excel.Template\ShellNew. Verify you 
have sufficient permissions to access the registry….
The rest of  Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007 was OK.
Tried to repair. Did not work and got same message.
I am the owner/administrator of this home Personal Computer 
. Why would I not have the permissions?
next attempted to remove Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007. Remove Programs did not work. Tried Mr. Fixit in KB 971179. Did not 
work. Then removed manually using steps in KB 928218. Seems to be gone.
Then tried to reinstall Microsoft Office Home and Student 2007. Got same error message almost at the end of the installation.
Now I have nothing.
Tried to reinstall Word 2002 (which had been removed by the set up when Office Home and Student 2007 was installed) and got 
Error 1402, Setup cannot open the registry key UNKNOWN\.doc\Word.Document.8\ShellNew. Verify you have sufficient permissions 
to access the registry….
Cannot even find these registry keys.
Now I have NOTHING.

!!
And I DO mean EVERYTHING … Roxio 2010, AutoDesk ADT2010, Autodesk Revit, NORTON(!!), Acrobat Pro… everything.
It’s just like the thing has NEVER had a thing installed (even though the folders for each of these are present inside of 
“Program Files (x86)”.
Well, I’ll be damned….
Now THAT’S a ’treat’… I gotta do everything all over again … !!
Hmmm - just as I was thinking thqt finally Microsoft ’got it right’ and my ’issues’ with Microsoft XP and Microsoft Vista (erg!) were simply a ’bad 
dream’….
Wake up, guy… the nightmare ain’t over yet, it seems…

The I.T. guy ’went ballistic’ when I told him this story…
“Un-installed” is the ”wrong term” - it ’rolled it back’ to the ”restore point” that DID NOT include any of this software….
I get it - I get it… Geez….
Whatever….
Nevertheless… I STILL had to re-install everything AND Office had to be ’reactivated’, and even HE didn’t know if this 
means still another license of O2K7 Enterprise was ’consumed’ (albeit - as he points out - with this ”Open License” 
Enterprise version, this is not all that ’critical’)…
It’s just that it costs me SO much !!! (shudder…!!) DANG!

Your licenses will be fine. You have only used one license, since you are only installed on one machine. It doesn’t matter 
how many times you uninstall and re-install, although it could mean that activation might need to be done over the phone, but 
even that will only happen after numerous uninstalls and re-installs. 
If you are running volume license editions of software you have even less to worry about since the same key is used for every 
install. And unless you’re installing software on more machines than you have licenses for, than you will be OK.

Trial Uninstall of Microsoft Office 2007 Professional seemed to work; but is incompleteness and cannot even use old Microsoft Office 2002 now. This seems different from the other threads as I didn’t get any errors prompt with Add/Remove, but not only can’t I access *any* Office programs for 2002 or 2007, but Win Update [...]
